Burke Swanson is a Brooklyn-based actor and artist inspired by the poetic nature of art. With stage credits including The Rose Tattoo at Roundabout Theatre Company and Hamlet with Savannah Classical Touring Company, as well as screen appearances in HARLEM on Amazon Prime and Hit the Road, Jacks by Allen Childress, they bring a dynamic presence to both theater and film. Currently producing the documentary FOR US by Amelia Bentley, Burke is represented by Buchwald.

Quentin Staley (he/him) is a co-founder of JMP! Collective, designer, and writer based in Atlanta, GA. Passionate about the intersection of art and technology, he focuses on crafting beautiful microsites, poetic texting, smartphone photography, and public speaking. When not assisting friends with graphic design projects, he travels as a private practice consultant—or meditates (or possibly not, depending on his perspective). Preferring real-world interactions over virtual spaces, Quentin embraces creativity, kindness, and the art of being present.

Kaelin Elizabeth Fuld is a born-and-raised New Yorker now based in Brooklyn, where she continues to live and breathe the creative energy that first sparked her love of the arts. Immersed in theater and visual art since childhood, Kaelin has long been drawn to the magic of storytelling—both on stage and on canvas. While she primarily works as a freelance stage manager, she keeps close to her roots in visual art, embracing any chance she gets to paint, sketch, or create between projects.

For Kaelin, the joy of artistic work lies in the deep collaboration it invites: the transformative experience of building something from nothing alongside others who are equally passionate. Her creative spirit is fueled by community and connection, and she finds meaning in the ephemeral beauty of performance and the lasting intimacy of visual expression.

In 2022, following the profound loss of her father, Kaelin’s art took on new weight and urgency. She turned to her creative community for comfort and began weaving themes of grief, death, and spiritual exploration into her work. Through these deeply painful years, she has also encountered moments of unexpected beauty—new friendships, expanded perspectives, and a renewed belief in the unseen threads that connect us all.

Kaelin is committed to making space for collective healing through her art. Whether it’s the heartbreak of losing a childhood object or the devastation of widespread loss, she believes in honoring grief in all its forms—and in finding joy, connection, and resilience on the other side.

Born and raised in New Delhi, India, and now residing in New York, Tanya Chauhan shares a lifelong bond with dance—one as deep and unwavering as the connection she holds with her family. Through every high and low, dance has remained a constant, bringing out the best in her and serving as both a refuge and a source of joy. For Tanya, leaving dance has never been an option; it is an essential part of who she is.

With nine years of training and counting, Tanya has immersed herself in ballet, jazz, tap, and many other forms, always striving to make her dance journey more beautiful with each passing day. Her movements are guided by love and passion—pure, instinctive, and ever-evolving.

Lately, Tanya has been drawn to the wisdom found in The Secret and 8 Rules of Love, while musically, she’s been living in the worlds of Rihanna and Nancy Sinatra.

Ray’s work spans multiple disciplines: they are a musician and composer (guitar, piano, ukulele, melodica), a singer-songwriter naturally drawn to folk and instrumental storytelling, and a seasoned theatrical composer with a decade of experience crafting scores across genres—ranging from pop and punk rock to classic musical theatre. Their artistic world extends beyond sound into visual expression, working with pen, watercolor, and digital design.

With a background in ensemble-based theater creation and classical training in acting, clown, and commedia, Ray infuses performance with depth, humor, and transformation. As a neurodivergent and disabled artist, they are passionate about accessibility in care and creativity, using their work to spark meaningful conversations around healing. Their practice also extends to meditation, Reiki, and Qigong—holistic approaches that inform their artistic and personal journey.

Beyond the stage and canvas, Ray is a devoted fan of Avatar: The Last Airbender and the entire Avatarverse—a testament to their love of rich storytelling and world-building.

Based in Brooklyn, NY, Laura Beckerdite is a photographer and producer who believes in art as a force for healing and community. Based in Savannah, GA, Kristina Ilse moves through the world with art as freedom. To them, creativity is a vast root system—interwoven, expansive, and always reaching. It’s a space to explore, to create, and to grow in countless directions while remaining deeply connected to people, histories, and ideas. Nothing is disjointed, nothing is entirely new—only clearer.

Kristina is a choreographer, dancer, local author, journalist, and comic book librarian. As the founder of flock/drown dance theatre, she specializes in improvisational movement and tangential storytelling, constantly seeking new angles and perspectives. Their work often leans into cultural commentary, using horror and humor to challenge norms and hold space for better community standards.

A queer, autistic artist with a sharp and questioning mind, Kristina is known for their molten takes—from “Pie is better than cake, fight me” to the ever-relevant, “I understand why it’s like that, but why is it like that?” These questions, both playful and profound, fuel their artistic practice.

Eris He is a software engineer and hobbyist artist who finds truth in creation. To Eris, art is the most honest part of ourselves that we can give—a raw and unfiltered expression of who we are. Whether through code or creativity, their work is rooted in exploration, curiosity, and the search for meaning.

Lately, Eris has been immersed in poetry, not just in words but in form—digesting verses written in beautiful calligraphy, where language and art intertwine. Their approach to storytelling is shaped by a deep appreciation for both structure and fluidity, logic and emotion.

Through writing and collaboration, Eris seeks to bridge the technical with the artistic, always looking for ways to express the intangible.

Darshan Sittampalam is a musician, songwriter, composer, and instrumentalist based in Brooklyn, NY. For him, art isn’t just a choice—it’s the only thing he can imagine doing every day for the rest of his life. Music is his way of connecting with others, a language that helps bridge the gaps where words might fall short—especially as someone who often feels like an “awkward duckling” in social situations.

Lately, Darshan has been reflecting on some of his favorite works, diving back into the driving rhythms and anthemic sound of the Foo Fighters’ In Your Honor and revisiting the timeless storytelling of The Twilight Zone. These inspirations continue to shape his artistic approach, infusing his compositions with a blend of nostalgia, intensity, and curiosity.

Based in Chicago, IL, Braxton Crewell approaches art as a profound act of connection. They believe that through art, we find ourselves and each other—we learn, we grow, we grieve, we love. Their work is an ongoing exploration of what it means to be human, an invitation to step into creativity as a space for understanding and transformation.

Braxton’s heart is filled with music, their mind consumed by performance, and their spirit stitched together by poets, novelists, and the words of those they love and admire. Since college, they have devoted their time to exploring many facets of theater, including acting, directing, vocal coaching, and arts administration. Their interdisciplinary approach allows them to foster meaningful storytelling across a variety of mediums.

As a Black, queer, Southern expat, Braxton moves through the world with a sense of unfolding discovery. They find refuge, understanding, and healing in art—something they hope to share through community engagement, artistic collaboration, and daily life.

process

when we launched the crowdfundr campaign for postcards i never sent, we knew this project was going to be different. it wasn’t just a performance piece—it was a means to an end, a way to capture the images we needed to produce the postcards, the lyrics, and the graphic visual album that would follow. our goal was $8,000, and by the end, we had raised 124% of that, hitting $9,896 from 109 contributors. the support confirmed what we had hoped—this project resonated, not just with us, but with a growing community who saw the vision and wanted to be part of it.

but why a performance? why go through the work of staging something ephemeral just to get to a tangible final product? in our own words, “we also just need photos for the visual album.” the performance was the process. it was a way to create raw, unfiltered moments that would become the core of our second visual album. the first, i would’ve called it 12-4 but the paper kites did it better, had been a covid project, intimate and contained. postcards i never sent was something else entirely. it was bigger, more communal, more chaotic, and exactly what JMP! collective was meant to be—an interdisciplinary atelier where artists come together, make something, and document it as part of an evolving body of work.

the structure of the piece followed three acts: the descent, the depravèd depths, and the ascension. thematically, it explored rage, regret, and the long, often nonlinear journey of mental health. two movers, two musicians, and one photographer worked together, blending semi-improv movement with devised theater techniques. every moment was a frame, every transition a composition. when we said it was about getting the photos, we meant it quite literally. every night, the performance changed, but the images—captured in real-time—became permanent.

our audience wasn’t just watching; they were part of it. the show was structured so that participation was inevitable, whether in the way the energy shifted in the room or how viewers experienced it through zoom, where sound distortions and digital glitches created their own unintentional compositions. some moments were “too loud” for the microphones to process, leaving gaps in the audio that, instead of being seen as flaws, became integral to the piece. what was lost? what remained? how did absence shape perception? these questions became part of the work.

at the heart of it all was community. JMP! collective has always been about building spaces where artists can experiment, support each other, and produce work that wouldn’t exist otherwise. this was never just about one show. it was about sustaining a model where projects can be made and documented, where we can keep making more. “the process is protected because the production is guaranteed.” that’s what we said at the start, and that’s exactly what happened.

Based in Brooklyn, NY, Alex Poirier is a multidisciplinary artist and creative producer who thrives on connection. She believes in art because of its ability to foster relationships, spark conversation, and inspire transformation. Currently, she is exploring themes of ritual and human behavior through the book Ritual by Dimitris Xygalatas.

Alex is excited to collaborate with JMP! Collective, bringing her expertise to projects like Postcards I Never Sent. With a background in theater, she has taken on many roles—producer, electrician, director, designer, and performer—most notably with Class Act Players Theatre Company in Washington, D.C. Her work is deeply rooted in collaboration and storytelling, always seeking ways to build meaning through shared experiences.

Outside of performance-based projects, Alex applies her love for words, problem-solving, and community-building as a nonprofit grants writer at ADAPT Community Network. There, she helps craft narratives that drive impact and change.

Kenzie Tartaglione is the creator of queeRPG, an award-winning GM, actual-play performer, writer, actor, and audio/video editor. A passionate storyteller, she was introduced to the TTRPG space through Dungeons & Dragons and quickly became enamored with the way these games foster storytelling and community. With experience as both a player and GM, her mission is to bring more diverse voices into this beautiful, fantastical world.

Though not a born-and-bred Brooklynite, Kenzie currently resides in the borough, where she continues to write, act, and occasionally direct—all while being an unapologetic menace to cishet society (follow her antics on social media). JMP! Collective’s “12-4” marks her second publishing endeavor, following her 2016 poetry collection, 3am Musings. Whether in this life or the next, Kenzie is here to tell stories that matter.
